The Youth Employment Services (YES) program assists eligible tribal youth between the ages of 14–24 to obtain summer employment. Program staff provide participating youth with Soft Skill Training, Financial Literacy Training, Etiquette Training, and Career 101 to help enhance youth worker’s employment experiences.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Federally recognized Tribe or demonstrate proof of eligibility for tribal enrollment or provide a Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA).
- Must be between 14–24 years of age.
- Must reside in Southeast Alaska.
- Must meet the income requirements of the YES Program
Application Process
- Submit your completed YES application by the deadline on the form online at https://prod.tribald.com/ccthprod/public/ccthonlineapp.aspx
- Once approved, you’ll receive a Human Resources Packet to complete and return with the required documents to yesandinterships@tlingitandhaida.gov .
- Include copies of your Tribal Enrollment Card, Social Security Card, proof of date of birth, and proof of Southeast Alaska residency.
- If you’re 14–16, a parent/guardian must complete Section B of the Work Permit form and all necessary paperwork.
- Males 18–24 must also provide proof of Selective Service registration.
