The Self-Governance program administers the Compact that enables tribes to redesign programs, activities, functions, and services of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA); to reallocate funds from such programs, activities, and functions or service according to the tribal priorities; to enhance the effectiveness and long-term financial stability of its tribal government.
Tlingit & Haida provides technical assistance and training opportunities to help tribal governments and programs to conduct elections and find additional resources to upgrade their administrative capability. Training is available that will help Tlingit & Haida staff and tribal government councils and staff to successfully perform their respective duties.
