First Responders Addiction & Recovery Education

The Addiction & Recovery Education program is dedicated to the comprehensive development, implementation, and oversight of opioid overdose response initiatives. This program collaborates with the Tribe’s Village Public Safety Officers (VPSOs) to administer approved medications and devices for the emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdoses.

Our program offers both in-person and virtual outreach and training resources on opioid exposure, overdose response, and recovery referrals. These resources are available to first responders and tribal citizens in Compact and VPSO communities throughout Southeast Alaska.

Additionally, the Addiction & Recovery team diligently tracks data and prepares reports to monitor trends in opioid addiction, response, and referrals within Southeast Alaska communities.
