Learn More About ElectionsDELEGATES & CHAPTERS
The Tribal Assembly consists of elected Delegates from 21 recognized Tlingit & Haida communities. Delegates convene annually on the third Thursday in April. In election years, the Tribal Assembly is held in Juneau. In non-election years, the Assembly may be hosted by another community if invited through a resolution passed at the preceding Tribal Assembly.
Special assemblies may be called by the President, the Executive Council, or by a notice supported by at least one-fourth of the Delegates. The purpose of a special assembly must be stated in the call or notice, but Tlingit & Haida may also address any other matters within its authority during the assembly.
The Tribal Assembly and Executive Council determine the Tribe’s positions on issues impacting the Tlingit & Haida people through a resolutions process. Any duly seated Delegate may submit a resolution. Resolutions from a Tlingit & Haida Community Council must first be adopted by that council before submission. View all delegates.
