More than 120 Delegates from Southeast Alaska, Anchorage, Washington, and California will gather April 16-18, 2025 in Juneau, Alaska for the 90th Annual Tribal Assembly. Delegates serve as the Tribe’s governing body while in session and represent the interest of tribal citizens in 21 recognized communities.
This year’s Tribal Assembly will be a Constitutional Convention as called for by Delegates in 2023 to further examine the Tribe’s governance structure. For the past year and a half, a special committee comprised of eight Delegates has been working diligently to examine the Tribe’s representation structure, evaluate options, and make recommendations. The committee issued its full report to Delegates on January 14, 2025, which includes proposals, technical amendments to the Tribe’s Constitution, and minority reports.
In addition to considering proposed amendments to the Tribe’s Constitution, Delegates will hear reports, review and take action on resolutions, and elect a Tribal Court Associate Justice, Delegate/Citizen of the Year, and Emerging Leader.
