
Aurora Lehr

Aurora Hokuokalani Lehr is Naanyaa.aayí, Eagle Killer Whale, and is the great-granddaughter of the Neix.adi. Her Tlingit name is Kawaanyaa, which was given to her by her great auntie Jackie Williams Clark.
Aurora was recently promoted to Vice-President at the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN). Since 2010, she had served as Special Assistant to the President on Federal Indian Policy. At Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, Aurora has held several positions including Tribal Court Judge, Delegate representing Seattle, Executive Council Youth Representative, and Miss Tlingit & Haida.
Aurora holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law and a Bachelor or Arts in Economics from the University of Washington.
Raised in Mill Creek, Washington, Ms. Lehr has Tlingit, Hawaiian, German and Norwegian roots. She dances hula with Hula Hui Na Haumana O Alaka and has been a lifelong member of Seattle Cape Fox Dancers.
